Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules and guidelines for using the MediaPasses platform (the "Service") operated by Media Passes, LLC. This policy supplements our Terms of Service and applies to all users of the Service.
MediaPasses is a professional platform. We expect all users to interact with each other respectfully and honestly. Violations of this AUP may result in warnings, content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination.
1. Professional Conduct
MediaPasses is designed for professional use in the media and entertainment industries. All users are expected to:
- Interact with others professionally, courteously, and in good faith
- Provide accurate and truthful information in their profiles, applications, and communications
- Respect other users' time, especially when responding to credential applications or messages
- Use the platform for its intended purpose — facilitating credential management and professional networking
2. Account Integrity
2.1 Identity and Credentials
You must not:
- Create accounts under false identities or impersonate another person or organization
- Misrepresent your professional role, media outlet affiliation, experience, or qualifications
- Maintain multiple accounts for the same individual without prior approval
- Use another person's account or share account credentials
2.2 Credential Applications
When applying for event credentials, you must:
- Only apply for credentials you genuinely intend to use for professional media coverage
- Provide accurate information about your outlet, assignment, and intended coverage
- Not apply for credentials on behalf of others unless you are an authorized Assignment Editor acting on behalf of your organization
- Honor credential commitments — if you receive credentials, attend the event or notify the PR team in advance if you cannot
2.3 Digital Passes
Digital credential passes issued through the Service must not be:
- Transferred, sold, traded, or shared with any other person
- Duplicated, screenshotted for use by others, or otherwise reproduced
- Used for any purpose other than the specific event and credential type indicated
- Altered, modified, or tampered with in any way
3. PR Team Responsibilities
PR teams and event organizers using the Service agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete event information, including dates, venues, and credential details
- Review credential applications in a timely manner
- Communicate clearly about application status and requirements
- Not discriminate in credential decisions based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics unrelated to professional qualifications
- Honor credentials issued through the platform — do not revoke approved credentials without legitimate cause
4. Communication Standards
When using the platform's messaging system and other communication features, you must not:
- Send harassing, threatening, abusive, or intimidating messages
- Send unsolicited bulk messages or spam
- Use communications for commercial solicitation unrelated to media credentialing
- Share confidential information from private messages without consent
- Send content that is sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate for a professional platform
5. Content Guidelines
5.1 Profile Content
Profile information, including photos, bios, and portfolio samples, must be:
- Professional and relevant to your media or PR work
- Your own work or work you have proper rights to display
- Free of offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate material
- Accurate and not misleading
5.2 Event Listings
Event information posted by PR teams must be:
- Accurate regarding dates, times, venues, and credential availability
- For legitimate events that the PR team is authorized to manage credentials for
- Updated promptly if event details change or events are cancelled
6. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Fraud: Using the platform for fraudulent credential applications, fake events, or any form of deception
- Credential Abuse: Obtaining credentials under false pretenses or using credentials for purposes other than professional media coverage
- Data Harvesting: Scraping, copying, or systematically extracting user data, event information, or any other content from the platform
- Platform Manipulation: Using bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the Service without prior written consent
- Security Violations: Attempting to access other users' accounts, circumvent security measures, or exploit vulnerabilities in the Service
- Retaliation: Taking adverse action against a media professional for the content of their coverage, or retaliating against users who report violations
- Illegal Activity: Using the platform to facilitate any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations
7. Reporting Violations
If you encounter conduct that violates this AUP, please report it to us at abuse@mediapasses.com. Please include as much detail as possible, including the usernames involved, description of the violation, and any relevant screenshots or evidence. All reports will be reviewed and handled confidentially.
8. Enforcement
We take violations of this AUP seriously. Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, we may take the following actions:
- Warning: A notice to the user identifying the violation and requesting corrective action
- Content Removal: Removal of content that violates this policy
- Temporary Suspension: Temporary suspension of account access, typically 7–30 days
- Permanent Termination: Permanent removal from the platform for serious or repeated violations
- Credential Revocation: Revocation of any active digital credentials associated with the violating account
We reserve the right to take any of these actions at our sole discretion. Users may appeal enforcement actions by contacting appeals@mediapasses.com within 14 days.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time to reflect changes in the platform, industry standards, or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or via email.
